PRISTINA -- Saturday – The Albanian National Army has claimed responsibility for the attempt at assassinating Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova, according to the media in Pristina.

In an official statement from the ANA group to the media, the organization warned the international community to not play with the fate of the Albanian people. The regional media reports that both UNMIK and KFOR have confirmed that they have received information that the assassination attempt was organized by the ANA, which has been proclaimed a Kosovo terrorist organization.

However, UNMIK and the Kosovo police have denied these claims by the media. Kosovo International Police representative, Dimitri Prvakin, said that an investigation is still not complete on the attack on Rugova's motorcade and that UNMIK and the Kosovo police service hope to find out who was behind the attack very soon.
