SERBS SAY FINNISH PEACEKEEPERS ATTACKED IN
KOSOVO ALBANIAN VILLAGE
Beta - July 11, 2004
Lipljan, 11 July: Residents of the Serb villages of Donja and Gornja Gusterica
in Kosovo-Metohija today denied that an armed incident in which four Finnish
Kfor (Kosovo Force) soldiers were wounded had occurred in these villages.
Kosovo Television reported last night that the four Finnish Kfor soldiers were
wounded shortly after 2100 (1900 gmt) in the Kosovo village of Gusterica, near
Lipljan.
Citing Kfor sources, the television reported that six persons had been arrested,
not mentioning any names or the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to sources from the two Serb villages, none of the residents took part
in these incidents. The shooting occurred in the village of Trbovce, which is
inhabited exclusively by Albanians.
The Beta agency has also been told that no one from Gornja and Donja Gusterica
has been arrested.
As reported earlier, the Finnish soldiers are not in the life-threatening
condition.
