Germany: Amnesty International says Kfor not
protecting Kosovo minorities
BBC Monitoring - July 8, 2004
Text of report by German Deutschlandfunk radio on 8 July
The Amnesty International human rights organization has accused the
international armed forces and police forces in Kosovo of failure. Five years
after Kfor Kosovo Force took over control in the province, members of minorities
are still constantly in danger, a spokesman said in Berlin. Thus, there were
incidents where units under Franco-German command permitted attacks on the
private homes of Serbs. The Amnesty representative opposed the German interior
minister's intention to deport Serbs, Roma, and Ashkali from Kosovo, who live in
Germany.
