MACEDONIAN POLICE SEIZE 8.4 KG OF HEROIN AT BORDER WITH KOSOVO

Text of unattributed report: "Eight kilos of heroin seized", published by Macedonian Albanian-language newspaper Fakti on 12 July

Police and customs officers seized 8.4 kg of heroin at the Bllace (Blace) border crossing during the night of 10 July. In the course of the operation, they arrested B.A. (aged 28) from Struga, who was employed in Germany. His intention was to smuggle into Kosova (Kosovo) the drugs he had concealed in his car.

It is also reported that the drug was procured in Albania and its destination was Italy and Germany. On the same night, police also confiscated about 600 grams of marijuana in Gostivar.
