Macedonia: Albanians could become majority in Macedonia, says Capcan

Albanians are very likely to become population in majority in Macedonia, said Charles Capcan, a Professor at the University of Georgetown and Director for European Studies at the Council of Foreign Political Relations.
    
In an interview with Radio Voice of America, Professor Capcan cautioned that in such case the situation in Macedonia’s society could further deteriorate given the serious ethnic tension that the country is undergoing.
    
The main problems is in discrepant life expectance among Macedonian and Albanian community in Macedonia, Kapcan said, adding that Macedonia is the third issue burdening the Balkan and it is a potential source of new problems, apart from the final status of Kosovo, and the future of Bosnia & Herzegovina.
    
The European Union has taken-over from the United States the role of chief diplomatic arbitrary in Balkan region. The Balkan is about to become within European’ domain very soon.
    
The European Union has taken-over the lion’s share in security and peacekeeping mission in the region. The Europeans hope to take-over the task of reinstating the stability and the rule of law in Kosovo as well, Capcan said. /end/
