Serbia's Covic warns of Trojan horse syndrome in Haradinaj appointment
BBC Worldwide Monitoring - December 13, 2004, Monday

Text of report by Serbian TV satellite service on 12 December

Announcer: In Kosovo-Metohija nothing happens by chance, and the same holds true for Ramush Haradinaj's appointment as prime minister, Nebojsa Covic, chairman of the Coordination Centre for Kosovo-Metohija has stated. The Trojan horse syndrome is at work here, Covic said.

Covic: I, too, expect an indictment to be issued against Ramush Haradinaj by 20 or 25 December at the latest, but this is a process that was agreed much more in advance. It is like this: the indictment is issued, he demonstrates a high degree of cooperation, just as he pledged during his inauguration, he leaves for The Hague of his own accord. Enter Hashim Thaci and the entire political scene of Kosovo-Metohija is rearranged. Pristina scores brownie points with the international community, which will be very important for the assessment and appraisal of the Standards. Pristina has scored again, while Belgrade again finds itself with a noose around its neck over cooperation with the Hague tribunal and many other processes. We must think because these are not simple processes, we must be analytical and unanimous when we send messages from Belgrade.
