BOSNIAN SERB PARTY SAYS ISLAMIC TERROR GROUP
ACTIVE IN BIJELJINA, ZVORNIK
SRNA - June 12, 2004
Banja Luka, 12 June: The Democratic Party of the Serb Republic (DSS) today
warned the (Bosnian) Serb Republic Interior Ministry that "besides Banja Luka,
Islamic terrorist organizations are also active in Bijeljina and Zvornik".
A DSS statement expressed consternation that "so far not a single political
party has condemned the threats against Serb Republic Premier Dragan Mikerevic
and the Serb Republic coming from Islamic terrorist organizations".
"We have already warned the Serb Republic interior minister about the activity
of a terrorist group in Banja Luka, and now we are warning him about this group
also being located in Bijeljina and Zvornik," the statement said.
The DSS believes that it is pointless to publicly condemn the chairman of the
Party of Democratic Action (SDA) (Main Bosnian Muslim party), Sulejman Tihic,
without severing coalition ties between the Serb Democratic Party and Party of
Democratic Progress and the SDA in the Serb parliament.
The DSS said that it and the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats had a
parliamentary majority in several municipalities in the Serb Republic as well as
in Banja Luka.
