MUSLIM SLAV REPORTEDLY BEATEN UP BY ALBANIANS
IN DIVIDED KOSOVO TOWN

Kosovska Mitrovica, 22 August: Hakija Salijevic, a Bosniak (Muslim Slav), was
beaten up last night by three Albanian youths in the district of Bosnjacka
mahala in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
Salijevic was injured in the attack which took place at around 0200 (2400 gmt)
in the Knjaz Milosa Street. Salijevic was beaten up in the part of Bosnjacka
mahala next to the southern bridge and in the immediate vicinity of Kfor's
(NATO-led Kosovo Force) checkpoint, it has been confirmed in the International
Press Centre in the northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica.
The motive for the attack is still unknown.
