KOSOVO "FIGHTERS" URGE ALBANIANS TO REJECT VOTE ON SERBIA'S RETURN
SRNA - October 1, 2004

Pristina, 1 October: The so-called "association of fighters for the freedom of Kosovo" has been handing out leaflets in the province's populated areas since last night, which ask "the Shqiptar (Albanian) people not to vote for Serbia to return to Kosovo".

"We face political processes which are developing before our eyes, which are anti-Albanian and led by UNMIK (UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo)," the leaftlet says.

The leaflet says that "the UN mission is tasked with realizing UN Resolution 1244 which guarantees Serbia remaining in Kosovo", whereas the so-called "association of fighters for the freedom of Kosovo" does not recognize this mission.

"We demand Kosovo to be free and by boycotting the elections we can break away from the grip of Serbia," the association's leaflet says.
