Tanjug - June 9, 2004

15:46 BELGRADE , June 9 (Tanjug) - Exactly five years ago, on June 10, 1999, ended NATO's bombing of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, and the southern Serbian province - Kosovo and Metohija - since then is an international protectorate.

The official end of the "humanitarian intervention" - as NATO called the 24-hour bombing of targets in Yugoslavia, with the explanation that it was in that way saving Kosovo Albanians from alleged represssion by Serbian forces - was preceded by the signing of a military-technical agreement between NATO representatives, the Yugoslav army and Serbian police.
