Non-Albanian pupils in Kosovo-Metohija attacked

14:34 BELGRADE , Sept 3 (Tanjug) - Serb and other non-Albanian students are facing increasingly serious and worrying problems at the beginning of school year, the Union of Serb Municipalities and Settlements in Kosovo-Metohija said on Friday.

"An attack at students in the village of Popovac near Strpce, stoning of a school bus in Gnjilane, the fact that a Serb school in Kosovo Polje has remained closed are just some of the examples of torture to which the youngest ones are exposed," the association said.


Serb children in Kosovo prevented from attending classes

20:33 BELGRADE , Sept 3 (Tanjug) - Head of the Kosovo District Dragan Velic said that in several communities with Serb majority population in Kosovo-Metohija, Serb children are being prevented from regularly attending classes in the primary and secondary schools, the Serbian Orthodox Church said in a statement Friday.

Velic gave the example of a Serb majority village in the Strpce municipality, where there have been attempts to take over school premises.
